I know there’s a lot of hype around AI right now, and maybe most of it isn’t justified, but I believe there’s great potential. Since a few years now, I sleep with headphones to avoid lying awake all night thinking about stupid things. I used audiobooks for that purpose, but couldn’t always control the content, and sometimes it did more harm than good. So I thought to generate calm, positive stories with AI and listen to them with an app like ElevenLabs Reader. After exploring the idea with Claude Sonnet, I got an implementation plan that I sent to Claude Code. 20 minutes later I had a working app. I used Nano Banana Pro to generate an image for the app – it’s much better at that than Claude. After just two hours I had an app that did what I wanted. With Claude Code in the iOS app, I can implement more features on the fly, just with my mobile phone and internet. I have no experience building iOS apps, but I didn’t need it. For simple problems like this, especially for personal use, Claude Code works really well, which means many more people can now build apps that suit their exact needs. For complex problems, programmers are still necessary, but the threshold for creating something useful has been lowered significantly.
