Imagine: App stores as we know them disappear. Instead, people order custom-generated apps directly from an AI agent. From customer taking ready-made solutions to client getting personalized apps.
Past few months I’ve built a platform that does exactly this for Android. You talk to an agent that generates the functional spec, a coding agent builds the app, visual tests run in emulator, and then it’s delivered directly for download. Even though it’s at the level of an experiment, it works today. I use my self-generated apps every day. Sure, they had silly bugs (which I fixed later on with the coding agent) and are a bit rough, but it’s fascinating how this will evolve with next-generation models.
Maybe App Stores disappear completely. Maybe we just get an AI OS that generates what we need in real-time. No idea where this leads, but things are moving fast.
